When the client decided to acquire the floor below the penthouse we were remodeling, the need for an internal staircase became apparent. The building and structural engineers said it could not be done, but this did not stop my careful review of the by-laws and structural engineering to find solutions. In the end, it was the interior designer, architect and myself meeting the moment with a world class collaboration.
