These photos showcase finely detailed plaster moldings by Stevensons of Norwich in an Adams period library. The installers ensured that the install was exactly as drawn. The zero cracking at any joints or seams was thanks to Stevenson’s exceptional plaster mixes and install execution. Careful dimensional layout of the room and the US-made bookcases (conversion to metric) ensured that the plaster components fit perfectly upon arrival. Planning the intricate painting of blue and green colors started with working closely with a master painter. We practiced on ornamentation until we could easily calculate the amount of labor hrs for the prep and painting tasks in the room. We then determined the necessary personnel and set a clear spreadsheet schedule that the painting crew that became motivated to deliver faster than we budgeted.
Another notable feature are the three alabaster chandeliers hanging from what looks like very dainty skylight mullins and glass. We carefully worked out a structural steel rod that hung from higher above, allowing the design team to narrow these mullins to the most architecturally pleasing size. Along with led lighting and blackout shades, the skylights had it all.
